[...] When Jimmy Moore pulled his affiliation and posted his apology to the low carb world, I knew it was time for a serious personal reality check. There are many bloggers who have explained just why Kimkins is such a dangerous dietary plan. I won’t attempt to explain the medicine and science of it here.
Thanks for posting your thoughts Sherrie. Low carbs diets are good if used wisely. The reason I think most people fail at them is because they don't do their research and can't transition safely off of them.

Oh 900 is nothing, trust me, they get much lower then 900 calories. For example, they have a boot camp where you are limited to 500 calories a day with a minimum 30 mins of intense cardio. I'm sure you would appreciate how bad a combo that is!

But they get even lower again, water fasting and daily laxative use is also encouraged.

I don't know how much your into low carb per se, but low carb diets in the real sense are not bad, kimkins I don't even consider a low carb diet, I prefer to think of it as a VLCD.

Yes Kass... I know your a smart one -- I just hope you know what you're doing because very low calories can really back fire on you. There are better Ketogenic Diets out there (higher calories) like the Get Shredded Diet & the Velocity diet that will probably give you the same results or better without slowing down your metabolism.
Also, this post was written before I had a chance to PM you with my thoughts -- and you know what they are. Since writing this post, i've been researching alot on Ketogenic type diets & their pros & cons and have come to the conclusion that most are safe for a short period. Since you are only doing this for 6-8 weeks, then you should be ok, but I still think you need to eat more. ;-)
Love ya girl & I wish you much success!

Hey Vlima, I totally respect your opinion, however I'd think you'd know me to be smarter than to just take 100% of what anyone says. I am doing very well. I've lost 10.5lbs so far and gone from 29%bf to 27% bf with no muslce loss! Obiviously I don't agree with most of what Kimmer says, it's simply a case of eating the meat and spitting out the bones, utilizing what makes sense and throwing out the rest. I feel wonderful, ave tons of energy, I'm dropping pounds and inces like crazy especially my belly fat (which you know is the worst and most dangerous of all places to store fat) and my workouts have actually improved!

I did P90X back and biceps yesterday and oh my gosh! I got the most imcredible pump ever! I was grunting and groaning and covered in sweat....SEXXXAAAAH ROFL! It was great. I'm sore as I don't know what today though! He has a LOT of reps in the bicep portion. I've never worked my biceps like that before lol.

Anyway, I totally appreciate your concern, but give me a little more credit...I'm a smart cookie!;)

Blessings,

Kassandra
