PNTC Week 8 Review, plateaus & more
Hello again everyone! I’ve been away for about a week… but still goin’ strong with my workouts & nutrition.
Today marks:
- Week 9 Day 57 of my Precision Nutrition Body Transformation Challenge
- Week 24 Day 170 of my Civilian Fitness Program, AND….
- Week 4 Day 22 of my Personal 4 WK Challenge (ends on Monday 17 September)
WOW! SOOOOOO many challenges! Thankfully, my Civilian Fitness Program is coming to and end next week as well as my Personal 4 WK Challenge.
After my last cheat meal last night, i’m still at 189 lbs today. WOHOO! No more 190’s!!!! i’m retaining a bit of water weight because of TOTM and all the sodium I took in so that’s another 1 to 2 lbs that should be gone in a couple of days. As far as inches lost…. I will be measuring this afternoon or tomorrow morning and i’ll update on it later on this week. My compliance this past week was amazingly at 91% (out of 43 total meals) but I do think I need to start taking some drastic measures and maybe limiting my calorie intake on days I do not workout???? I’ve been averaging between 1800-2000 calories on most days - even when I don’t workout. Every 5th or 6th day i’ve had a pretty high calorie day (between 2500-5000) and that’s about it.
My official exercise times this week were:
I was looking through my stats above (since June) on my Polar HR monitor and I should be losing more weight/fat with everything that i’m doing. Almost every week I’ve been averaging between 4-5 hours of exercise & a good 3,500+ calories burned, so i’m thinking that it’s my nutrition & calories that I need to adjust. I don’t know…I think 1800-2000+ calories on my workout days are fine, but not when I don’t workout. I good friend of mine plugged in my numbers on her Calorie King Calculator and it said that I should be averaging 1500 calories — meaning, I should eat 1500 calories on non-workout days & 1500 net calories (Calories consumed - Calories burned) on workout days.
For example: On a typical workout day I burn between 600-1000 calories. Let’s take 600 for this example. To hit the 1,500 mark, I should/can eat 2,100 calories and still make a net of 1500, because I burned 600 cals. (2100-600=1500). Of course I would have to adjust this depending on how many calories I burn. Sound confusing??? I hope not.
I’m planning to get more feedback on this at the Precision Nutrition forums later on, but I will start implementing this TODAY and try it out for a good 4 weeks or so. I gotta get this weight moving faster… 3 months is really long for a plateau. I haven’t measurement my body fat % recentely, and I will do that today for sure so I can see where I really stand i
That’s it for now….
Have a GREAT day and make it a GREAT week!
