it took me a DECADE but I finally figured it out FOR ME.

I eat clean

99% of the time and that way I can eat a LOT.

the old scrambled egg beaters and oatmeal calories being more than, say, a minisnickers but better for ya so it doesnt matter!

lemmie k now if I can lend a hand at all...

I love food too! It's true that you could eat 2 Big Macs a day and lose weight if you burned more calories than they contained. (a calorie is a calorie) But when it comes to overall health, think what that would do to your arteries, cholesterol, etc. You can be thin and still not healthy!

I LOVE food too! I think you can still enjoy it all, but the key is moderation. I also heard that your body craves excellence, so when you continue to eat healthy, your body will refuse to settle for less.

I dedicate my Saturday lunches to indulging in any food. I love Indian, Thai, Japanese and I love Middle Eastern food! (I'm biased

You can overeat a little as your post workout meal since your body needs to recover and build, but try not to go over 4-500 calories.

I'm sure you're doing awsome so keep it up!

It's a common mistake that when we're exercising, we overeat because we think we've done a good workout, so we can overeat.

Many people either don't lose weight or get stuck at a plateau thinking they are exercising, which is a good thing. But, as you've already found out, you can't use it as an excuse to eat more.....................:)

Keep up the good work.

Patrick ( I checked out your about page on your blog to get your name)

It's never too late to start something new. I think you actually have the hardest thing already mastered, your nutrition. Many people, including myself struggle with this. What I like about the current program that i'm doing right now is that you only need 90 minutes a week - three 30 minute workouts that will have you sweating buckets by the time your are done! But you choose what works better for YOU. Start with a simple power walk every day... then as that get's easier, start running... If you need additional ideas, let me know and I can email you personally.

I have had a rough end of the year, but I want to move one with my life and get started working out again. I eat well all year round, but my workout routine has been inconsistent since the beginning of this year.

Brides Made Fit- THANKS for your comment... I will surely check out the forums! I have a goal of 4,000 for me since i'm a bit taller and it's just how much I usually burn anyway. Some weeks it's higher because I play a lot of baskeball and burn up calories like crazy!

Fitness Guy - THANKs for your comment as well. How did I feel? Does OUCH describe it? LOL! I was sore! My baskeball workouts are pretty grueling as well and i'm also lifting pretty heavy weights so I am definetely sore throughout the week. Yes, fast workouts are the best! I really don't have the time or desire to stay at the gym for 2 hours, so TT has been great for me. Snaking is and I think will always be a downfall for me, but I try to make them "healthy" and if at all possible, protein & fat.

Polar HR monitor has got to be the best fitness gadget i've bought so far. It keeps me in check and lets me know at all times how hard i'm working. If I fall below a certain "HR" number, I know that it's time to pick it up! This is the one that I have: http://www.polarusa.com/us-en/products/fitness_crosstraining/F11
