Weekly Update - 8/11/2008

August 11, 2008 By: Vilma Perez Category: Daily Journal, Faith 6 Comments →

HELLO! :D

So, I think I finally have a PLAN that I will be able to stick with.  I’m switching workouts, yet AGAIN… but since I am now staying at home, I have a lot more time to schedule the many things I have to do as the new executive administrator for the Perez family.

That being said… as of today, I will be switching my workouts to P90X (Classic version) and will be doing that in the mornings at home.  Basketball will be reserved for the evenings so it will give me time to recover & rest.

This is what my workout schedule will look like for this upcoming week:

Monday - Chest & Back, Abs, evening basketball leauge
Tuesday - Plyometrics, afternoon basketball
Wednesday - Shoulders & Arms, Abs
Thursday - Yoga, evening basketball
Friday - Legs & Back
Satruday - Kempo, basketball or tennis
Sunday - Rest

I weighed myself on Saturday and am down another 3.5 lbs in 2 weeks.  I am reserving my measurements for once a month now… so I really don’t know how much more inches i’ve lost, but my husband has told me that I look a lot thinner! :D  What a sweetheart! I finally went to go buy some new jeans this weekend because the other ones that I had where very unflattering and falling off my hiney already.  XL’s are down history and i’m fitting into L’s and M’s now! :D

Daily life has been great, peaceful & stress free!  I am in week 5 of Living the Proverbs 31 Life and becoming the Woman God wants me to be.  I think leaving my job and starting this devotional has really helped a lot in so many different areas of my life that I had been neglecting for many years.  I don’t know if I would have had time other wise.  This is what I’ve completed so far:

Week One: Faith Foundations

  • Place your full confidence in God
  • Commit yourself to time alone with God
  • Mediate on God’s Word
  • Be a Woman Wrothy of Confidence
  • Choose to focus on the positive

Week Two : Godly Habits

  • Become consciously selective
  • Stay planted in the Word of God
  • Devoted youself to Prayer
  • Sleep in Peace
  • Be diligent

Week 3: Healthy Eating

  • Purge your pantry of harm
  • Resolve to contrl your eating habits
  • Limit your sugar intake
  • Eat Reasonbale portions
  • Plan ahead for healthier eating

Week 4 : Strengthening your body

  • Walk to boost energy
  • Purify your body with enhance water
  • Give your body time to digest
  • Grow strong by defying gravity
  • Purify body & soul

And now i’m on to week 5 and I will be focusing on Mangement Tools for my life.  Today I read about maximizing each day that I have and learning to make the most of TODAY.  Since none of us has a guarantee about tomorrow or next year, all we can do is make the most of each day that we have.  I think it’s good to have goals & list’s… I know I live my life by them.  But what we really need to focus on is today.  You can apply this to every single area of your life… Spiritual, physical, relational, personal, financial, etc.  Ask yourself this question:  What do I need to do TODAY to fulfill these areas?  Write one thing down for each category and check it off as you finish it.

For example, this is my list for today:

Spirtual: TAG (Time alone with God)

Physical: P90X

Relational: Spend some time with my sister

Personal: Pick classes to register for this upcoming fall semster

Financial: Update quickbooks

Hopefully this will help you make the most of your day or atleast point you in the right direction!

7/15/2008 - reflection on my life

July 15, 2008 By: Vilma Perez Category: Faith No Comments →

So… here I sit trying to think of how I can express myself and be open with what has been going on in my life recently.  Without going into too many details… I just have to say that God has been faithful and good.  I don’t know where I would be right now if I didn’t have Him to hold on to. What has gotten me through these tough times is the Bible, lots and lots of prayer, music and… EXERCISE!  I’m soooo extatic to say that because usually, I would turn to food before.  My love of running has increased, and i’ve started to play basketball again - my #1 sport.

I’ve also been reading a lot.  The Bible has been my guide & refuge and I have just finished reading the Fred Factor by Mark Sanborn and am currenlty reading a 90 day devotional by Donna Partow called Becoming the Woman God wants me to be.  Both books have helped me reflect on my life and really find the good in the smallest things.  I have been reminded that no matter where I am or what i’m doing, I need to do it all with joy and think about making a difference in this world.  I know that God has a completely customized plan for my life and that He allows everything to happen for a specific purpose.  I just need to trust in Him.  I’ve also learned that it’s not enough to think new thoughts or adopt a new belief system;  I must take action!  And that includes every single area of my life.

So… If you are reading this and going through a rough patch in your life right now… I just want to let you know that everything will be OK in the end. Find hope in the Word of God that says:

And after you suffer for a short time, God, who gives all grace, will make everything right.  He will make you strong and support you and keep you from falling.  He called you to share in His glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever…”

~ 1 Peter 5:10

Thanks for reading!

God Bless You. :)

Good Friday - Day 12

April 06, 2007 By: Vilma Perez Category: Daily Journal, Faith No Comments →

It sure it a GOOD friday! Today I celebrate the day that my Savior-Jesus Christ willingly died on the cross for ME!  Yes, me!  He died a death that I should of taken & has given me the gift of salvation.  I don’t deserve anything, yet He loves me unconditionally despite all my imperfections. Thank you JESUS! :-)
Today is also a better day than yesterday.  Got a little bit more sleep & have ate really good up until now (this afternoon).  I am currently eating lunch - Turkey Burger w/ mozz. cheese on a Whole grain English Muffin.  YUMMO! :-)  I have done my exercises for the day - Caitlin really kicked my booty on this one… It was like a circuit training deal (10 different stations/1 minute each with 2-3 cardio recovery minutes) that had my heart rate in the ZONE & had my mucles burning & screaming!  TOTAL body workout, so I didn’t have to do additional upper body training.  It was short (about 45 minutes), so I power walked on the threadmill for about 20 more minutes after that.

I will post recap when I come back from church tonight.

Till then,

God Bless you!!!
