yes... this is very true Angie. I just updated my blog with an weekly update & I mentioned on there that I will not be concentrating on lbs. lost this year. I mean, I know that it will go down... but to set a date for it will probably just lead me to failure & dissapointment. This year I will concentrate on inches lost, body fat % & how my clothes fit. I really don't care if I weigh 160 instead of 140 as long as I can fit into my size 4/6 jeans. I've come to realize that scale readouts are just a number on the scale & don't really tell you what you have accomplished. So, yes... it will be nice to weigh 140 lbs one day but I will not let that consume me.

Thanks for stopping by!

I hear you on that. I'm also getting rather good at setting SMART goals. But less good at actually achieving them. I think the snowball idea is a good one. Start with what is achievable and make inroads that will give you momentum.

Just one thought on your goal for the next 2 weeks though: you can control what you eat, how much exercise you do, water you drink, sleep you get and all the rest of it. But you can't control the rate at which your body gives up it's fat stores. "Lose 5 pounds" is a good first mini goal, but setting a time limit on it is not within your control. Gunning for you and your 5 pounds though - if only we could just will it away!
